- These are the instructor guidelines for working with DDD Academy, organised by Aardling.
- We would like to add some advanced workshops to our offering for our maturing audience and are looking for those workshops specifically.
- If you have additional questions, please share them with [email protected] so we can make this page more complete.

General
- We need at least 90 days to promote a workshop successfully
In Person Workshops
- If you want to have a workshop at our next conference, please submit a proposal via Sessionize so we can process and select your workshop:
Remote Workshops
- We prefer sessions of 3.5 hours to avoid Zoom fatigue
- We often have workshops of 2 or 4 sessions, that can be 4 consecutive days or 4 consecutive Mondays or something different. This can depend on homework that needs to be done by participants.
- We have workshops in the morning or afternoon (Brussels time - CET/CEST). It is more difficult to have workshops outside of those hours. Mornings also fit Asian countries, afternoons can also fit for some parts of the US.
- We stay away from typical vacation holidays to set our dates.
- July and August
- From December 15 → January 15
- Festive Holidays, Eastern Holiday
Protecting the privacy of participants
We can only share participant names and company names with instructors. We don't ask participants for consent to share their contact details, so we're not able to pass these on.
This is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. Collecting and managing consent for sharing contact details would mean tracking who has agreed and who hasn't for every workshop, which adds administrative overhead on our side. Please share the messages that you want us to share with participants.
If you'd like to get in touch with participants directly, for example to invite them tor own mailing list, you're welcome to do this during the workshop, once you've met them in person or you have their contact details from another source.
Instructor Earnings
- We do a 50% profit split, so that is (= revenue - costs) / 2
- For remote workshops, we only have ticket and payment fees as a cost
- For in person workshops, there are additional costs:
- Classroom + catering + technical needs + staff at the venue
- Transport and hotel of the instructor
- If an instructor is speaking at the conference, transport will not be deducted
- We will ask you for 2 numbers
- We will ask you for your minimum number of participants to have a useful and functioning workshop with.
- We will ask you for your minimum earnings expectation separately, so we can estimate what the minimum number of participants is.
How confirmation works
Each workshop is confirmed once it reaches its minimum number of participants. We aim to confirm workshops as soon as they reach that threshold, ideally by the end of the early bird.
